I'm back from the International Mazer Cup in Colorado, and although I didn't come back with any medals, I had a fantastic time meeting so many professional meadmakers from around the world and I learned a lot about many different mead styles. I did discover that as a dry meadmaker, I am in somewhat of a minority, and this was a difficulty in being judged against other styles in the same category (varietals), but the positive is that I am a leader in the style and have a very particular niche. That being said, I did find some very valuable critiques and will be improving our current line with what I have learned, making a better mead experience for all of you lovely fans!
